PANTRA Kids Ride (2017)

K-13

May 7th, 2017 PANTRA held its annual Kids Ride at Liberty Lake ORV Park.  We again had kids of all ages and riding abilities.  However, this year was unusual in that the majority of riders were pre-teens and true beginner riders.

Because of erosion problems and the fact that it's located on the side of a mountain, Liberty Lake ORV Park can be a real challenge when mapping out manageable poker ride courses for young riders.

With the help of moms, dads, and other club members, both the beginners and intermediate riders were able to get through the course safely and draw their poker cards at the check stations with the hopes of getting a high hand and first pick at the prize table.

In addition to the Poker Ride, $25 gift certificates were given to the winners of the Slow Ride races.  Beginner and intermediate riders were split into two classes, on two different courses, and competed to see who could be the slowest to the finish line without putting a foot down.

There can't be a PANTRA Kids Ride without BBQ hamburgers,  hot dogs, and all the fixin's.  The cooks did a great job and everything tasted great!

One parent said it best when he said "it's like herding cats" when referring to the effort it takes to organize kids for each event.  However, with the efforts by all the volunteers, dirt bikes, games, prizes, food, and friends (both old & new), a fun time was had by all!

Kids Ride prizes were provided by PANTRA, Rocky Mountain ATV, Allen's Cycle, ALLSPORT, and CDA Powersport.  Please thank and support the businesses that support us and the next generation of dirt bike riders.

What a fantastic event for the kids and the parents. The options of trails were great for the kids! The adults were very conscientious and made sure to focus on the safety and the fun! It is also very helpful to me when these group of experienced riders, not only share their time, experience and riding technique but also their mechanical skills and tools! Grateful to be a part of the family. Keep up the great job on all fronts PANTRA. You have stayed true to your Mission.
